A cornerstone of the modern leftist catechism is hypocrisy to the Nth degree.
Is it OK if one their fellow travelers lies, cheats, steals, commits violent acts or generally indulges in racism, plagiarism and assorted untoward acts?
Absolutely yes.
Is if OK if someone on the political right lies, cheats, steals, commits violent acts or generally indulges in racism, plagiarism and assorted untoward acts?
Absolutely no. How absurd it is even to suggest that. MAGA. MAGA. MAGA. Insurrection. Insurrection. Insurrection.
When the opposing sides have such a basic rift on what is right and wrong, we’re never going to get along. It’s that simple.
Plagiarism, at its root the practice of taking the work and ideas of others and passing them off as your own, is rampant among the left.
A timely example is how the now former Harvard president Claudine Gay has resigned – eventually – when numerous examples of her plagiarism came to light.
Many aspects of this are noteworthy.
First, Gay came into the spotlight after a pathetic performance before Congress in which she was unable to say that Hamas supporters on her campus calling for genocide of Jews violated the school’s code of conduct.
A similar performance in front of Congress by Gay’s Penn counterpart ended up in the Penn person submitting a speedy resignation due to public backlash – read donors saying “No Mas” to sending more money to the school.
But Gay and her supporters, emboldened that she was a DEI poster child being both female and black, thought she was untouchable.
Quickly it came to light that Gay’s academic output borrowed a little too heavily from the work of others, without attribution.
Gay fought hard to stay, but eventually resigned. Note, she kept her $900,000-a-year political science professorship, where she is free to pollute young minds with ideological tripe indefinitely.
And how did LameStream media handle all this? What would you expect from organizations in which 96 percent of reporters identify as being on the political left?
Led by Associated Press, the whole thing was dismissed as a highly partisan hatchet job by the right. To quote from AP, the resignation “highlights new conservative weapon against colleges: plagiarism.”
Allow me to emphasize, the same people who told us all whistleblowers, all snitches, all women claiming past sexual abuse, must be believed and never questioned, now sing a different tune.
Those pointing out Gay’s penchant for “borrowing” ideas are to be dismissed as hateful hatchet people.
This might not surprise you if you recall that Clueless Joe is an admitted plagiarist himself, as confirmed in a Sept. 18, 1987, New York Times article. You can look it up if you care. Joe has “borrowed “ liberally since, too.
Even as this plagiarism passion play has unfolded, your LameStream media has conducted a gotcha campaign against Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The same thinking that painted black former governor aspirant Larry Elder as “The black face of white supremacy” in a Los Angeles Times article dated Aug. 20, 2021, is attempting to paint (pun intended) Ramaswamy as a white racist. Never mind that, as Ramaswamy has pointed out numerous times, he is the child of Indian immigrants to America.
This stance stands in contrast to another Republican presidential hopeful you may know as Nikki Haley, who was born Nimarata Nikki Randhawa to Indian parents. Haley doesn’t hide her heritage, but only seems to completely embrace it when it helps the cause, as in a woman of color running for political office, or getting a job.
Back to Ramaswamy, his great sin is refusing to endorse so-called “reverse racism” in which it is OK to discriminate against current people (mostly whites) to address grievances from two centuries back.
Ramaswamy made this point to a black pastor in Iowa and since has been attacked by white women media types demanding that he disavow “white supremacy.”
Ramaswamy’s response to such race-baiting is that he finds racism of all kinds despicable. That’s enough to trigger the LameStream media types who, as he predicted, rushed to proclaim that he refused to condemn white supremacy, or words to that effect.
This stands in direct contrast to LameStream media types who characterize racism directed toward whites, Asians, Jews, whomever, as just part of historical redress or a function of healthy political protest.
Bigot in chief Biden in the past has called Jan. 6 protesters in Washington, D.C. “a mob of thugs” who would have been treated very differently had they been Black Lives Matter protesters. This from an NBC internet posting dated Jan. 7, 2021.
Biden unintentionally spoke the truth. It’s just that where he was saying BLM types would have been dealt with more harshly, based on history we can say the reverse would be true. BLM protesters would be supported for their supposed cause (Note: That cause presumably not to ensconce higher-ups in luxurious Los Angeles real estate) and not criticized for the violence or damage they committed.
